Learn about the features, specs, and performance of the new Chevrolet Blazer EV, as well as the best way to save money by financing it through EV Life.

Chevrolet has taken the electric vehicle market by storm with a number of different EV offerings. After the release of the popular Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, the automaker has continued to expand its electric portfolio to include EV versions of a number of its most popular ICE models. Enter the Chevrolet Equinox EV, a crossover unlike any other.
The Equinox EV is an impressive addition to Chevy’s growing fleet of electric vehicles and will be offered in two forms, the LT and RS. Within these two distinct options, there are several available trims, drive configurations, and range options available.
In this electric vehicle spotlight, we’ll explore the options, safety features, battery life, and performance of the Chevrolet Equinox EV that make it one of the hottest EVs of 2023. We’ll also show you how to save a ton of money by financing your purchase through EV Life.
Like most new EVs by Chevrolet, the Blazer was designed from the ground up using GM’s Ultium platform. The crossover is about nine inches longer than its gas-powered counterpart, giving a little extra room to rear passengers.
The exterior features a simple yet futuristic design, which is complemented by its tech-heavy interior, which contains a large infotainment display, a fully digital gauge cluster, and a variety of two-tone color schemes available.
Chevy has yet to disclose specific performance details for all trim levels of the new Blazer EV, so some results may vary. However, on paper, the SS model promises to deliver impressive performance, boasting a remarkable 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque. It also features a “Wide Open Watts” mode that will hit 0 to 60 mph in just under four seconds. Pair that with high-performance Brembo brakes and a specially tuned sport chassis, and the Blazer SS is engineered for powerful performance.
The base model 2LT features standard front-wheel drive along with the option for eAWD with a dual motor setup. The RS is even more flexible, offering a single motor setup with power either to the front or rear axle or an all-wheel drive option with a dual-motor setup. The top-of-the-line SS trim comes standard with all-wheel drive. One-pedal driving and regenerative braking are also standard for all trims.
Every Chevrolet Blazer EV model comes standard with numerous safety features, including:
GM’s new Ultium Platform, on which the Chevrolet Blazer is built, provides enough power and versatility for any situation, whether you are going across town or across the country. Every Blazer EV model supports 190 kW DC fast charging, giving you up to 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For AC charging, it operates at 11.3 kW.
It's also important to note that Chevy's BEV3 electrical architecture is software-based, which means future updates via GM's ULTIFI could potentially improve charging rates.
Chevrolet Blazer Version | Base Price (est.) | Range | Horsepower (est.) | EV Tax Credit |
---|---|---|---|---|
Blazer 2LT | $56,715 | 279 miles | TBA | $7,500 |
Blazer RS AWD | $60,215 | 279 miles | TBA | $7,500 |
Blazer SS | $65,995 | 320 miles | 597 hp | $7,500 |
If you’re in the market to purchase a Chevrolet Blazer or other EV, PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle), or FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle), there are tons of ways to save money and offset the sticker price.
